# How do I enable a PIN code for tenants?

You can manage the PIN code setting for tenants in **Settings** under **General settings Building level (Req. admin)**.

To do this:

click the user icon in the top-right corner and open **Settings**

1. go to **General settings Building level (Req. admin)** andselect the relevant building
2. turn **Enable PIN code for tenants** on or off
3. save your changes

This setting applies to the selected building only.

If the same setting also exists at client level, the building-level setting will override the default for that building.

**Important: Please note that after this setting has been activated, a tenant will have to create their own PIN code by going to [Carrot for Tenants](http://tenants.carrot.tech), go to settings by clicking on their company name in the top right corner, and adding it there. **
